It was last year when I was out of the country, in USA, for a business trip. It was the month of August and I had to stay there for 2-3 weeks that meant I could not come back home for the Rakhi celebration.
I have never missed to celebrate raksha bandhan at my home as we are 3 bothers and we have only one sister, but this time I was feeling a little low as I was alone in other country in the festival.
My sister always chose the best rakhi for me, on last rasksha bandhan she tied gold rakhi on my hand and designer rakhi and silver rakhi on my elder brothers respectively.
We also gave her return rakhi gift; I gave her a necklace as a rakhi gift for sister and by elder brother presented her a designer jewelry set as raksha bandhan gift.
My sister also used to tie Lumba on my bhabhi’s wrist as she followed the other traditions and well and sometime se even used rakhi set, rakhi pair or bhaiya bhabhi ki rakhi.
I always cherish all the festival at my home, because it is the time when all family members get together from different places and it is the best time bond.
But I am going to miss this opportunity this time; I thought I will have a blank wrist on rakhi celebration.
It was a day before rakhi celebration when I received a beautiful musical rakhi on my Orkut account; I knew that my sister is going to send me an online rakhi.
It felt better but I was still missing something, the day before the rakhi celebration, my sister called me when I was watching a movie in my hotel room after client meeting, she asked me the name of the hotel during conversation and she also asked me the kind of rakhi I would have liked on this rakhi.
I told her I would have chosen a sandalwood rakhi, or a kundan rakhi, or a designer rakhi for this year’s rakhi celebration. I did not understand the purpose of that conversation but the very next morning I found a package for me in the reception area, I came to my room and opened the package and was very surprised to see a beautiful beads rakhi and a sandalwood rakhi it in.
My sister actually bought the rakhi for USA, she used and online gift delivery services, FNP, and sent me the rakhi with flowers.
